The Real Men Project Using Your Inner Truth for Outer Direction edition by Steven de Bruijn Religion Spirituality eBooks

Deep wisdom and the author's own experiences and insights are expressed in a crisp and clear style. This book makes a lot of sense.

Steven is realistic about life, about our beliefs, and much more. His honesty and authenticity are very refreshing. The author makes interesting remarks on plain old truths, like this one on self-forgiveness: "Don’t beat yourself up when you make a mistake. Keep your mind relaxed and easy. You’ll learn faster that way."

One thing I found difficult to digest is his support for "nutritional supplements" - in stead of making the case for whole and organic food. Very rightfully though, he pleads for veganism out of kindness to animals.
Every chapter has some nuggets, and a handful of practical suggestions how to put the wisdom into action. Here's his take on humor: "Humor helps in keeping your inner peace along the rocky road of life. Don’t take your ego too seriously, and learn to laugh at yourself." I love that!

I recommend this book to all men who want to be real men. Five stars.
(Disclaimer: I got to know Steven online while we were both writing our book, and I was intrigued right away.)

The Real Men Project Using Your Inner Truth for Outer Direction edition by Steven de Bruijn Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

When I took up 'The Real Men Project', I half-expected the usual mix of gender clichés and drawn-out sermons I often encounter in books like this. Instead, the simple and refreshing style, the personal, engaging way in which the author addresses the reader, and the down-to-earth, applicable inspirations he provides caught my attention and kept me going. 'The Real Men Project' is highly compact and gives value for almost every page read. Highly recommendable for individual inspiration as well as forming bonds and building a supportive community for and with men.
First of all, I highly recommend to read this book, you may find uncomfortable truths about what masculinity means nowadays for men and how to face it. Steven throught his own experience teach as an important thing be yourself, and nowadays its a complicated thing to do.

Men have been taught masculinity in a wrong way, in this book I can see a pure and honest heart trying to deconstruct the concept of masculinity and to learn that being vulnerable, as a man, it's human being thing, and that we all can learn about it.

I can see through this book love, compassion, a heart-open to help others to find their own path with really usefull and easy excercises.
An inspiring book, I enjoyed reading it, It was a pleasure to know better Steven throught his own expericences.

I recommended it to everyone who wants to find out interesting things about life and to everyone who is looking for answers.
I had the privilege of getting behind-the-scenes access as the author wrote this book. He shared his journey of the book with me in a such a beautiful, raw, vulnerable, and authentic way. It was truly touching.

Reading this book after seeing the process of it is just wonderful. The author has a gift of clear, crisp writing, that is deeply personal. When he talks about his own struggles you can feel it inside your own body.

The book is very well structured and I came out of it surprised with many insights I received. I used to read and spend a lot of time working with masculinity and embodying as full an expression of that as possible. Since, I've gone far away from thinking to much about identity in this way. To the point where stuff on masculinity, femininity mostly doesn't interest me. So I was again surprised to get a lot of value from the way Steven presents his own journey, and gives practical methods to apply.

I love his suggestion of working with men's groups. That was one of the highlights that stood out.

Overall a concise, and inspiring text. Highly reccommened.
I like how Steven was able to include his own personal experiences in the conversation, his perspective and honorably mention the influences that have impacted his journey through quotes and elaborate examples on working on ones own life.
This is a book every man needs to have in their house. An 'alfa-man', a shy man, a man who is sure of himself, etc.
Even though I'm a woman, I love this book. Chapeau!
It's really nice that he wrote from his own experiences. You really feel that his soul is in the book.

I'd started reading on a saturday evening and while I was reading I was thinking about my own life and the staps I made and I'm still making to be more me. Some are the same as in the book and some are good to take.

The part in the book about forgiveness really moved me. Ok, I got goose bumps. 'without compassion, the world is lost.' It's more than true.

So real man, come on and by this book!!!
I think it should be made clear first and foremost that this book is the very first published by this author--so, kudos to Steven for reaching this milestone. Having said that, there is always room for improvement, especially when doing something for the first time. However, the point of this review is not to focus on the negative, but to draw light on what made this book worth reading. It is told by a unique perspective of a young man who went through...life, basically. And from those experiences, this book reflects how he got through his struggles, with further wisdom on how to prevent negative energy in the future. This book was clearly about spirituality, so if you are looking for guidance on that, then this book is worth reading. I also believe it is safe to say that this book showed how much time and energy was spent into making it, which does not hurt.
